Enable VoIP calling from BATS (Mac OS)
BATS uses the built in Operating System (Windows/Mac) functionality to connect to your softphone application to make a call. You have to configure your OS to use the correct softphone application on your computer (Vonage, 8x8, RingCentral, etc). To do this on a MacOS please follow these steps:
(For instructions on how to set this up on Windows OS please see
this article.)
- Open FaceTime application, click on FaceTime menu, then click on Preferences
- At the bottom of the preferences panel change the setting for "Default for calls" option to the application that you want to use for outbound calling
- Note: if your application does not show up in this list then it is not recognized by the MacOS as a telephony application. Please contact the application maker for support with this option.
